KENNY Miller today warned the Dons defenders he’s out to break his Rangers scoring duck at Pittodrie.
The Scotland international forward has yet to find the net in a competitive clash since his controversial switch to Ibrox from Derby in the summer.
But he’s desperate to fire Walter Smith’s men to victory in tomorrow’s crunch clash with Aberdeen.
“It’ll be a tough game against Aberdeen tomorrow but we’ve already had two tough games against Falkirk and Hearts and have taken maximum points,” said Miller.
“We’ll be looking for all three points at Pittodrie and although it will be hard we’re starting to play well.
“For me, it’s about winning a place in the team and my priority is to get a starting slot tomorrow before we even think about the Old Firm game next weekend.
“Whether the manager opts to break up a winning team is a different matter. I want to play and I’m hoping to get the nod and if I do start I’ll be out to get a goal.
“It’s about getting the right result and we need to get that game out of the way before preparing for the Celtic match.”
Miller has also backed new signing Pedro Mendes to sparkle in the Granite City after impressing on his debut following his big money move from Portsmouth.
He added: “Pedro is a fantastic footballer and when you get someone in like him he’s always going to give everyone a boost.
“He’ll bring out the best in everyone else and I’ll relish linking up with him.
“He was outstanding against Hearts although we were comfortable throughout the game.
“Hopefully we can now kick on from that and get even better against Aberdeen.”
Meanwhile, Rangers veteran David Weir reckons the Light Blues have to win on the road if they are going to wrestle the league crown back from Celtic.
“There’s no revenge mission from our point of view even though we did lose the last match of the season at Pittodrie,” he said.
“Celtic won their game so it was really out of our hands.
“Last year is gone and we have to focus on this season and if we are going to be successful we have to win games away against teams like Aberdeen.”
