Kris is dreaming of making the big time

Published:

SNOWBOARD star Kris Bell is dreaming of becoming a professional just a year after taking up the sport.

The Kincorth Academy pupil, who lives in Cove, has already tasted success on the slopes.

Kris was the top junior at Aberdeen’s first major freestyle ski and board event – the Own It competition.

The 15-year-old is now concentrating on trying to become a pro boarder by training whenever he can at Aberdeen Snowsports Centre in Garthdee.

Kris said: “I’d love to become a professional, I train every day and I just hope I can get good enough.

“You need good balance and strong core muscles, but the staff at Garthdee have helped me get better.

“I started snowboarding on a school trip to Austria and I’ve kept going from there.

“Hopefully my next competition will be at Bellahouston in October.”
