Baby girl joy for pregnant man, 34
World astonished by three new arrivals

THOMAS Beatie, who was born a woman but lives as a man after hormone treatment, has given birth to a baby girl.
Beatie, 34, from Oregon in the US, legally became a man 10 years ago and had his breasts surgically removed, but kept his female reproductive organs.
Meanwhile, a 70-year-old woman has claimed the title of the world’s oldest mother after having twins.
Beatie’s child was conceived by artificial insemination using donor sperm and his own eggs.
He said: “The only thing different about me is that I can’t breastfeed my baby.
“But a lot of mothers don’t.”
He said the child was not delivered by Caesarean, but gave no other details.
Beatie stopped taking hormone injections after deciding to have a child.
He said he took the decision because his wife of five years, Nancy, 46, was unable to conceive.
Nancy said recently: “He’s going to be the father and I’m going to be the mother.”
Meanwhile, 70-year-old Indian woman Omkari Panwar has claimed the title of the world’s oldest mother.
She reportedly had twins – a boy and girl – weighing just 2lbs each, delivered a month early by Caesarean.
She had IVF treatment in the hope of having a son and heir to the family smallholdings.
