243 injuries to murdered men

DETECTIVES investigating the murders of two students in a London bedsit were today hunting a man seen running from the building moments after it exploded.

Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez, both 23, were found inside where they had been bound, gagged and stabbed to death.

A pathologist later documented 243 separate injuries to their bodies.

Det Chief Insp Mick Duthie said: “I have never seen injuries like this throughout my career.”

It was believed the men may have been tortured for several hours after being surprised by an intruder.

Forensic experts have found no evidence of forced entry and one line of inquiry is that a set of keys may have been stolen in a burglary six days earlier.
