Tributes flood in for tragic Bethan
Tributes to 13-year-old who died in park

TRIBUTES have been pouring in for a teenage girl who collapsed and died while out with friends.
Bethan Webb from Portlethen was with pals in Nicol Park on Saturday when she took ill.
Her dad Mike tried to resuscitate her but she later died in hospital.
Dozens of floral tributes have been laid at the park for the 13-year-old Portlethen Academy pupil.
Lib Dem councillor for North Kincardine, Paul Melling, said the whole community was in shock over the teenager’s death.
He said: “The girl went out for the night with friends and the next minute her parents got a call to say she was seriously ill.
“The dad went down there and tried to resuscitate her but he couldn’t bring her round.
“My thoughts are with her family. It must be very hard for them.”
Bethan’s mum Christine Marshall, and dad, Mike Webb, were said to be “totally devastated” by their daughter’s death.
The teenager lived in Broomfield Road with her mother and younger sister, Megan, 11.
Mr Webb also lived in Portlethen.
Family friend Susi Michie of Bruntland Road, Portlethen, said Bethan was a shy girl who was beginning to come out of her shell.
She said: “She was just bright and sparky.
“She always used to say she wanted to be a mum and she was great with her younger sister.
“Bethan was turning into a really wonderful young woman. She was very quiet but just starting out in life.
“She was very sporty and liked her running. She was a credit to her parents.” Mrs Michie said the teenager had not been drinking at the park.
She said: “I cannot believe for a minute there was any alcohol involved. It was just a bunch of kids having fun.
“Bethan was not that kind of girl. She would go up to the park to giggle and chat and have fun.”
Bethan had worked in Snappy Tomato Pizza in Cookstone Road in Portlethen for the last few weeks.
A police spokeswoman said: “There appear to be no suspicious circumstances and, as is normally the case, a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
