THE stars were out in force at Cannes for the premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The film’s ageing star Harrison Ford was there with his girlfriend Calista Flockhart, as well as co-star Cate Blanchett.

Other A-listers on the red carpet included Natalie Portman and Salma Hayek.

Ford insisted he was not concerned about the critical reaction to his latest adventure, saying the only people who mattered were the fans, but the critics at Cannes were divided. Some praised the adventure, while others were distinctly underwhelmed.

It was criticised for lacking a “knock-out killer punch and being “undeniably creaky.”

But others have praised the film as a “marvellous return to form” after a gap of 19 years.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is released on Thursday.
