Cults Hotel: North Deeside Road, Cults

GOLF. It’s been every-where this past week or so.
Then a little birdie (also known as the boss) reminded me it was time to take her to the Cults Hotel.
Decorated in a golfing theme, the hotel has just undergone a refit, allowing more space in the dining room.
And it is just as well, because after this visit, I can guarantee we will be back.
Green pea and bacon soup (£2.95) followed by beef olives (£9.95) was always going to go down a treat – just like a Richie Ramsay putt.
And it did. The thick, creamy soup, laden with vegetables was just the treat. It was the perfect tee shot down the fairway ahead of the testing par five-like beef olives. Three-and-a-half of the things jam-packed with oatmeal and laid out in a thick gravy – just the way I like it. The beef was nice and tender and easily sliced open. Lovely.
My girlfriend had gone for the more adventurous option of chilli and guacamole potato skins (£4.75), while for her main she went for the traditional scampi (£9.75).
The chilli had just the right kick to it, although she struggled to taste the guacamole.
The huge portion of lightly battered scampi came with a lovely crunchy coleslaw.
With two drinks each, the bill came to £41.10, but on this form, the Cults Hotel will be top of the rankings for a while to come.
