Aberdeen keeper Soutar in MLS link
Published:
ABERDEEN keeper Derek Soutar could be set to come up against England star David Beckham.
Soutar is being tracked by American Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo, who play in the same league as Beckham.
The 26-year-old is expected to be invited to Texas for a trial when the SPL season ends later this month.
The American transfer window opens on June 15.
Soutar is out of contract at Pittodrie in the summer and has been told he will not be offered a new deal at Pittodrie.
The Dynamo management team have been impressed by reports on the former Scotland under-21 international.
They are keen to add him to the side which includes Aberdeen-born Stuart Holden.
Houston are managed by former St Johnstone player Dominic Kinnear and coached by former Scotland international John Spencer.
