Garlogie Inn: Garlogie

SO THE Gallagher brothers, Paul Lawrie and Scotland The What? have all dined there.
Which means there must be something about the Garlogie Inn.
Out in the country, the inn is within handy distance of the city to pop out for a pleasant meal after work.
Sitting in a bright, new conservatory at the front, we decided to shun the special Christmas menu and stick with the regular offerings.
My girlfriend went for bruschetta to start, a real bargain at £3.95, while I opted for the soup of the day, again a nice price at £2.95.
Her bruschetta, on a bed of pesto and laden with onions and tomatoes, was enough for a full meal on its own and so tasty.
My chicken broth soup was the perfect winter warmer, with the creamy dish being packed with veg. Just what you want from homemade broth.
I decided to step out with my main course of chicken parmesan (£10.95). The chicken was coated in breadcrumbs, covered in mozzarella and parmesan and was an oozing piece of perfection.
However, at that price some more veg would have been welcome beyond the chips and solitary large piece of cauliflower, draped in grilled cheese
My girlfriend’s rib eye steak au poivre (£13.95) was a touch fatty, but still gained pass marks on the taste and quality fronts.
The pepper sauce was creamy and had just the right amount of bite while the homemade onion rings were a nice addition.
