Aberdeen house prices rise 5% in a year

HOUSE prices soared by 5% in Aberdeen last year.

The average cost of an Aberdeen home in the final quarter of last year was £196,175.

This figure was up from £186,847 for the same period in 2011.

Aberdeenshire also saw prices jump from £200,872 in 2011 to £205,786 in 2012.

The figures from the Register of Scotland’s quarterly report also show a 4.9% increase in Moray. Prices in the area rose from £138,792 to £145,567.

Aberdeen Solicitors Property Centre chairman John MacRae said the figures were good news for both those looking to buy or sell.
