Court bans three Aberdeen FC fans from games over Ibrox trouble

Men barred from all UK matches for 22 months

THREE Aberdeen FC fans were today banned from football grounds for nearly two years.

John Rose, Steven Rennie and David Whyman were involved in large scale disorder before the Aberdeen FC match with Rangers at Ibrox last January.

The disorder included running battles with rival fans outside Ibrox Subway Station, in Glasgow.

Today’s appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court follows the sentencing last week, of three other men at the same game.

The men today were ordered to carry out a total of 420 hours of unpaid work and each handed 22 month Football Banning Orders.

The banning order means they will be banned from all regulated football matches throughout the whole of the UK for a period of 22 months.

A fourth man, who was also involved in the incident, had his sentence further deferred until later in the month.
