CRAIG Brown today backed his Aberdeen FC players to ensure their SPL challenge doesn’t die in December.

Aberdeen FC were two points behind Celtic at the end of November and would have gone top of the table had they beaten Inverness Caley Thistle at Pittodrie.

But a hat-trick of league defeats – by Inverness, Hearts and Kilmarnock – have seen them drop to seventh. Brown blamed the club’s “freak” injury problems for their slump.
