A FIRE in Aberdeen could have had major consequences, a fire chief warned today.
Firefighters risked serious injury as they battled against hazardous gases at an Aberdeen City Council storage depot. It is believed the fire in the Mastrick area was started deliberately.
Station manager Gordon Riddell said: “These are the types of gases that can cause a backdraft – and we were very close to getting one with major consequences.”
