Emeli Sande wins Q Award

EMELI Sande has scooped another major award as it was revealed she is set to embark on a major US tour.

The North-east superstar beat Noel Gallagher and Adele to be crowned best solo artist at the Q Awards.

Former Alford schoolgirl Emeli received her latest prize at a star-studded celebrity bash in London, attended by the likes of Blur, the Manic Street Preachers and Dr Dre.
