DOG owners have been advised to be cautious after a reported rise in missing canines.

It comes after former council worker Rona Benzie believes her 18-month-old Jack Russell Peppa was snatched.

The resident of Great Northern Road, Aberdeen, said: “We were sitting in the back garden as we always do before we turn in for the night.

“Peppa, our 18-month-old Jack Russell, was poking her head through the gate watching for cats as she always does when we heard the gate bang.

“That was the last time we saw her, she had just disappeared.”

Peppa has not been seen since last Wednesday.
