A THREAT of major disruption to Aberdeen buses in the run-up to Christmas was today slammed.
The move came after it was revealed Unite is to ballot its members on industrial action after failing to agree a pay deal with bus bosses.
Regional officer Tommy Campbell claimed First Aberdeen had hinted at laying off drivers during negotiations if the union didn’t agree to its terms – and he warned that one of the options being considered is a bus strike in the run-up to Christmas.
First Aberdeen director Duncan Cameron said: “We are extremely disappointed that we may be facing industrial action despite our best efforts to come to an agreement with the drivers’ trade union regarding pay.”
