‘Offer to play in the States came out of the blue’

FORMER Aberdeen FC player Darren Mackie today admitted he is “stunned” to have been offered the chance to relaunch his career in the USA.

Darren, who was freed by Aberdeen FC in the summer, has agreed a one-year contract at newly-launched Phoenix FC.

Phoenix are based in Arizona and will play in the third tier of America’s professional leagues from next April.
