A WOMAN today told how she battled to rescue a man from a burning flat in Aberdeen.

As smoke filled the flat block, Natasha Barron tried to kick down the front door.

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene and managed to batter the door down to pull the unconscious 25-year-old to safety.

Officers have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries as they probe the cause of the fire, which broke out at a flat in Walker Road, Torry.

Police today said the fire was being treated as unexplained and officers appealed for anyone who saw a blue car in the area at the time to get in touch.
