AN ABERDEEN hoax caller has admitted lying to the coastguard twice about crashing a dinghy into a North Sea oil rig.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard Dale Anderson made fake emergency calls to the Maritime Coastguard Agency twice on his mobile phone.
The 21-year-old time-waster admitted causing MCA staff annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.
He pleaded not guilty to a similar charge stating that he had also requested Viagra during a call and the plea was accepted by the Crown.
Anderson, whose address was given in court papers as 40 Greenburn Terrace, Aberdeen, will be sentenced next month after background reports by the social work department were ordered.
