A THUG who attempted to rob an Aberdeen store to help pay off mounting gambling debts has been locked up.
Darren Warchol attacked an innocent shop worker as he made a desperate bid for cash.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard Warchol, 22, attempted to rob the Co-operative store on the city’s Hayton Road.
Warchol, whose address was given in court papers as 165 Crown Street, Aberdeen, admitted assault, attempted robbery and behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by brandishing a bottle, was sentenced to a total of 29 months in jail.
