Politicians clash over rejection of plan

THE decision to abandon a city centre regeneration plan for Aberdeen has been branded “anti-progress and anti-democratic” in a blistering attack in parliament.
Infrastructure and Capital Investment Minister Alex Neil claimed Aberdeen’s Labour-led city council had defied the will of the people by rejecting a referendum result which backed the City Garden Project.
But North-east Labour MSP Richard Baker claimed the SNP’s reaction was simply “sour grapes” in yesterday’s debate.
