A CALL is to be made tomorrow to ditch Aberdeen’s City Garden Project and instead spend millions sprucing up Union Terrace Gardens.
Ahead of tomorrow’s decision on the fate of CGP, Aberdeen City Council’s Independent Alliance Group wants to use the cash to improve Union Street, the Art Gallery, Music Hall, the Lemon Tree and the Mither Kirk.
Group leader Cllr Marie Boulton wants council officers to explore borrowing £92 million – as proposed under the CGP, but today opposition leader Callum McCaig dismissed the proposal as a “non-starter”.
