Man dies at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after rescue

A MAN has died after falling overboard from a North Sea ferry, Grampian Police confirmed today.

The incident happened on a Northlink vessel travelling from Aberdeen to Lerwick.

The man was seen falling into the water, halfway between Fraserburgh and Wick in the Moray Firth about 8.20pm yesterday.

The man was rescued about 9pm last night and taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but died a short time later.
