Savage may come out of retirement to help out Rangers

Robbie keen to play in Third Division

Published: 26/07/2012

RANGERS were today considering an offer from former Welsh international Robbie Savage to help them out in the Third Division.

Savage, 37, now works as a television and radio pundit after hanging up his boots a year ago.

But he revealed he has already contacted Rangers and offered to come out of retirement to play for free and aid their bid to win the Third Division title in the coming season.

Savage said via Twitter: “If Rangers are struggling for players I would come out of retirement and play for nothing. I could do a job in Scottish Division Three.

“I only retired a year ago and it would be a privilege to play for such a great club. You think I’m joking, but I’m serious.

“I’ve already sent a text to Charles Green to ask if Ally McCoist needs help.”
