DONALD Trump today became the latest to call on Aberdeen FC fans to get behind their team.
The American business magnate was delighted when Aberdeen vice-chairman George Yule presented him with a club shirt.
Trump now wants fans to show their true colours and turn up in force at their matches in the coming season.
Aberdeen FC need more fans to attend games to help them cope with the drop in revenues because Rangers have been banished to the Third Division.
Trump hopes the people in the North-east will give the team as much support as they did to help him build his new golf course at the Menie Estate.
Trump said: “We had many obstacles and challenges to overcome in the pursuit of our vision.
“But with the support of the North-east people we remained focused on our goal and have just launched, what many are describing as the greatest golf course in the world, right here in Aberdeenshire.
“We have a great sports heritage in this region and an even better future.
“I encourage the supporters of Aberdeen to get behind their team during these challenging times and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead and aim for the very best!”
Trump follows in the footsteps of Denis Law, who made a similar plea at the weekend.
