AN ABERDEEN man has clinched the top title in the first Cullen skink championships.
Six finalists made it to the last round of the competition at the Cullen Bay Hotel.
But it was Nigel Ross who took home the award for his version of the famous soup – made to a 100-year-old family recipe.
Mr Ross, originally of Cullen, said he was delighted to win the 2012 World Cullen Skink Championships.
He said: “The event went really well and was well-organised. It was also nice that the judges took a genuine interest in everyone’s recipes.”
