Amicus Apple: Langstane Place, Aberdeen

MY FRIENDS and I usually visit Amicus Apple for their delicious range of cocktails but after meeting up for a catch-up over lunch we’ve decided we like the food there just as much.
The delicious antipasto platter (£11.95) we shared to start was the perfect size for three.
It had tasty Parma ham and salami, just-baked ciabatta bread (with olive oil and balsamic for dipping), juicy sundried tomatoes, creamy mozzarella and fresh rocket. The true star of the dish, however, was the chorizo in a red wine and chilli dressing. I don’t usually like chorizo – amazing.
For my main I opted for the toast skagen ciabatta (£5.95) and skinny fries (£1.50 extra). This open sandwich was covered with tender, fresh crayfish, smothered in a creamy lemon and dill sauce.
My pal’s chicken caesar salad (£9.95) was a generous portion of fresh crunchy baby gem lettuce, tender chicken, crispy bacon in a dressing that was flavourful without being overpowering.
My other pal ordered the fish and chips (£11.95) – but it was more like a baby whale than a haddock! The flaky fish was delicious and the golden batter was just right. The chunky chips were soft and crunchy.
We’ll certainly be back for another bite at Amicus Apple.
