COMEDIAN Frankie Boyle hit out at one of Aberdeen’s top hotels today – branding it a “mental asylum”.

The outrageous funnyman posted a series of digs at the four-star venue – about three miles from Aberdeen city centre – in a foul-mouthed tirade on Twitter.

He complained his room was stained like a “crime scene” and whined about cleaners disturbing his peace “early” in the morning.

Frankie – who has 796,000 followers – also hit out at a gardener shattering the quiet by starting up a chainsaw at 9am.

He posted: “Guess what time Mercure Aberdeen start cleaning the rooms? 8AM.

“Guess what time someone starts cutting about outside with a chainsaw? 9AM.”

In another tweet, Frankie who swore throughout his Twitter tirade, added: “There’s a bloody print on the radiator the size & shape of a face.”

Eric Darde, director of operations for the hotel group, said: “We were very surprised to read Mr Boyle’s complaints about the hotel this morning and are treating these very seriously.

“We would welcome a conversation with him in order to personally address any issues he had during his brief stay with us.

“We are committed to ensuring all our rooms are clean and comfortable and strive to provide a great customer experience every day.”

The Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel and Spa is a 19th-century mansion house set in 30 acres of lush grounds on South Deeside Road, Blairs.

It has an indoor heated pool, a hot tub and a state-of-the-art gym.

Rooms are advertised from £84-a-night and visitors rate the hotel as mostly “very good” or “excellent” on travel website TripAdvisor.

Frankie, from Glasgow, is currently touring cities across Scotland with his controversial brand of humour – giving his followers a running commentary of his stops.

Ahead of his Aberdeen shows he wrote: “Last time in Inverness! Then off to Aberdeen to meet the bleak expectations of oil rig workers.”
