Leighton looking at keepers with fresh pair of eyes
Jim feared axe because of poor eyesight
Published: 19/07/2012
JIM Leighton has been looking at Aberdeen FC’s keepers with a fresh pair of eyes this pre-season.
Pittodrie goalie coach Jim, 53, had laser surgery in the summer to improve his poor eyesight, which he once feared would wreck his hopes of playing at the top level.
Jim said: “I could hardly see a thing without my contact lenses in or glasses on when I was a player. But my eyesight is almost perfect now, it’s amazing.”
