Video: Man catches girl in three-storey fall from building

A GIRL was caught by a bus driver after she plunged three floors from an apartment building.

Steve St Bernard, a bus driver in Brooklyn, caught seven-year-old Kayla McCree as she plunged three storeys from an apartment building in Coney Island, New York.

The girl had reportedly crawled out on to an air-conditioning unit in her family’s third-floor apartment.

Video taken at the time shows the youngster swaying and dancing as onlookers gather around.

When she lost her balance and fell St Bernard, who was stood directly under the girl, managed to catch her.

St Bernard, who tore a tendon during the catch, told reporters that he had a young daughter too and hoped that someone else would do the same for her if she was in trouble.
