TWO men from the Liverpool area attacked an Aberdeen man after he made fun of their accents, a court heard.

Jamie Howe, 18, and Richard O’Connell, 25, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where they pleaded guilty to assaulting Stuart Wilson.

The court heard how the pair, who were visiting Aberdeen, launched the attack after losing their temper due to remarks being made about their accents.

The incident occurred at Club Kristals, Bridge Street, Aberdeen, on May 7.

Howe, whose address was given in court papers as 93 Abbots Way, Winsford, and O’Connell, of 170 North Road, Liverpool, were each sentenced to a community payback order with 80 hours of unpaid work by Sheriff Peter Hammond.
