Woman’s careless driving caused fatal crash

A WOMAN who caused the death of her friend in a road crash wept in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court as she avoided being locked up.
Megan Mitchell, 20, had previously pleaded guilty to careless driving after she caused a crash in which her friend Leanne Slesser die.
Mitchell, whose address was given in Aberdeen Sheriff Court papers as Denhead Croft, Fordoun, was sentenced to 200 hours community service and a restriction of liberty order keeping her at home between 8pm and 7am. She was also given a four year driving ban.
