CELTIC manager Neil Lennon has targeted progression in Europe as important for the club in the forthcoming season.
The Premier League winners enter the Champions League at the third qualifying stage and, despite admitting he expects a difficult task, Lennon wants to make it into the tournament proper.
“We want to progress in Europe. That’s important for the players and the supporters more than anyone else,” he said.
“I’m very wary of the qualifiers – they are very difficult games and our first one is going to be very soon.
“The qualifiers are a major concern because they are always very hard fought and we just want to get it right this year, so we are doing a lot of preparation.”
Celtic are in Germany preparing for the new season and face Bundesliga outfit FC Augsburg in their opening friendly this evening.
