A MIDDLE-AGED stalker who climbed a tree to spy on his ex-girlfriend has been told by a sheriff he is “too old for this sort of nonsense”.
Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard Graham Shewan, 51, did not accept the end of his eight-week relationship with Eleanor Watt and proceeded to bombard her with phone calls before “shimmying” up a tree in her back garden late at night.
After he was spotted by concerned neighbours, police were called and officers arrived to order Shewan down from the tree before arresting him.
Shewan appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court where he pleaded guilty to stalking Ms Watt at Rosemount Place and Belvidere Street on February 15 and 16.
Shewan – whose address was given in court papers as 130 Shaw Crescent, Aberdeen – was fined £400 by Sheriff Peter Hammond who told him: “You are too old for this sort of nonsense.”
