Rain set to batter region this weekend

A SEVERE weather warning has been put in place for the next few days with heavy rain set to fall.
The North-east will be battered on Friday and Saturday – and the rain will continue into Sunday.
Forecasters said the rain would be “heavy at times on Friday” with “outbreaks of heavy rain on Saturday continuing into Sunday”.
