ABERDEEN FC today confirmed they will not play any part in a last gasp bid to keep crisis-hit Rangers in the top flight.

It has been reported a breakaway group of club chairmen were in secret talks to ensure Rangers remain in the SPL.

Aberdeen will play no part of that secret cabal working for a late carve up and are adamantly standing by their stance that Rangers should be denied access to the SPL and apply to the SFL.

It is understood the move to vote on the Ibrox club’s future tomorrow could be deferred after Rangers chief executive Charles Green launched a last gasp bid to keep the Ibrox club in the top flight.

But Aberdeen want the vote to go ahead tomorrow and will not deviate from their no to newco stance chairman Stewart Milne recently made public.
