HOLLYWOOD’S new blockbuster animation went back to its roots as it was unveiled to audiences in Scotland.
Eden Court Theatre in Inverness hosted a Highland premiere of the Disney Pixar film Brave.
There was a green carpet rather than red at the Brave premiere in Inverness, to mark the movie’s use of Scotland’s rolling countryside as its backdrop.
The animated Pixar film, set in mediaeval Scotland and voiced by a host of home-grown talent, went straight to number one in the US last week, taking in more than $80 million dollars.
Among those attending the Brave premiere was Elgin-born actor Kevin McKidd.
Inverness singers Julie Fowlis and 10-year-old Peigi Barker, who provide vocals in the film, also performed at the premiere.
Brave, which had an Edinburgh launch on Saturday which First Minister Alex Salmond attended, goes on general release in Scotland on Friday, August 3.
