CHIEFS at Sport Aberdeen were blasted today for splashing out on an overnight stay at a four-star hotel – a dozen miles from their base.
Sport Aberdeen hired Thainstone House Hotel, near Inverurie, for a two-day “management strategy” meeting.
About a dozen bosses were thought to have attended the high-powered get-together at the four-star Thainstone House Hotel and spa, where rooms can cost £135 a night – at a time when workers are considering action over a pay freeze.
Today a union boss questioned whether the meeting represented good use of taxpayers’ money.
