RSPB hits out after osprey attack

A CALL to strip buzzards of their protected species status was slammed today by a leading conservation group.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds spoke out after a businessman released dramatic footage of a buzzard snatching an osprey chick from its nest near Oldmeldrum.

But a RSPB spokesman said the incident “should not be used as a foundation to demonise buzzards”.
