SUPERMARKET chain Morrisons today announced a new store for Aberdeen is due to open next summer.

Morrisons now has full planning permission to build a 70,000 sq ft foodstore, cafe and petrol station on the site of the former Summerhill Academy off Lang Stracht.

Spokesman for Morrisons development executive Richard Bakes said it would have a “prospective opening” in late summer 2013 and create about 330 new jobs in Aberdeen.
