DEVELOPERS said today they would be ready to start work on a multi-million-pound leisure and housing project within a year.

The £115 million Banchory-Devenick scheme includes 280 houses, which will pay for the refurbishment of Blairs College, a former Roman Catholic seminary, as a 100-bedroom hotel.

And Aberdeen’s former Open champion golfer Paul Lawrie – who has just bought the neighbouring Aspire complex – is to design an 18-hole golf course.
