AN ABERDEEN football referee has been hit with a £1,000 penalty for attacking his ex-girlfriend’s mum with a kit bag.

Bryan Braidwood, 34, was found guilty at Aberdeen Sheriff Court of attacking retired primary school teacher Anne Graham, who was left with blood pouring down her face.

Aberdeen Sheriff Court was told Braidwood has since resigned as a referee when he appeared for sentencing – although he was set to be sacked anyway.

Braidwood was fined £700 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for the assault and a separate charge of acting aggressively.

Braidwood was also ordered to pay £300 compensation to Mrs Graham.

Braidwood, whose address was given as 27 Links Road, Aberdeen, was admonished by Sheriff Malcolm Garden over a separate charge of striking Michelle Graham’s car.
