WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange seeks asylum in Ecuador
Move follows failed bid to avoid extradition

THE WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has applied for political asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.
The move came after he failed in his latest bid to avoid extradition to Sweden to face sex crime allegations.
The 40-year-old Australian was today at the building in Knightsbridge, having gone there to request asylum under the UN Human Rights Declaration.
