A MAN caught behind the wheel at more than four times the legal drink limit has had his £33,000 BMW confiscated.

Anthony Brady admitted drink driving after he was caught on the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road on May 14.

Sheriff Peter Hammond granted the forfeit of the BMW 5 Series car along with a £400 fine and a two-year driving ban.

Brady, 39, admitted having 147mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, when the legal limit is 35mcg.

Fiscal depute Alan Thomson told Aberdeen Sheriff Court police found Brady unsteady on his feet, with slurred speech and a strong smell on his breath.

Defence agent Tony Burgess said Brady, whose address was given in court papers as 46 Earlspark Drive, Bieldside, was extremely shocked, ashamed and embarrassed by his conduct and has lost his job as a consequence.
