Rangers facing liquidation
HMRC’s no vote is enough to deal a fatal blow to the CVA
Published: 12/06/2012
CRISIS-HIT Rangers today moved closer to liquidation after Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs confirmed they will vote against a Company Voluntary Arrangement.
Charles Green, who is leading the consortium aiming to acquire the club, confirmed the devastating news for the Ibrox club.
HMRC’s no vote is enough to deal a fatal blow to the CVA proposal and Green will now push ahead with plans to buy the club’s assets and form a new company.
That will force the SPL clubs to decide whether to admit a Rangers newco to the top flight – or ditch them into Division Three.
