FORMER Labour prime minister Gordon Brown today criticised newspaper coverage of UK involvement in Afghanistan.
At an inquiry into press standards, Mr Brown singled out The Sun for the way it had portrayed him in relation to Afghanistan.
Giving evidence to the Leveson Inquiry in London, he said: “What I think one newspaper in particular decided to do is it didn’t want to take on the difficult issues.
“It reduced coverage to ‘we were doing something wrong’”.
Conservative Chancellor George Osborne was also due to give evidence today.
