GERMANY’S Euro 2012 dream could have died on the pitch at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

That is the damning verdict from former Aberdeen FC midfielder Andreas Mayer, who fears Bayern’s Champions League final heartache will have fatal repercussions to German hopes.

But Mayer, 39, said: “The future is very bright for Germany. I am sure their new-look team can go on to compete for, and win, major honours for years to come.”
