Porn actor arrested in cafe
Luka Magnotta was reading about himself on web
A PORN actor suspected of murdering a student was reading about himself on the internet when he was arrested at a Berlin cafe.
Luka Magnotta, 29, was arrested in a cybercafe in the city’s Neukoelln district.
Magnotta is wanted by Canadian authorities on suspicion of killing Jun Lin, a 33-year-old man he dated, and posting his body parts to Canada’s two top political parties.
The Canadian authorities have alleged Magnotta filmed the murder of the student, from China, and posted it online.
Investigators had alleged Magnotta’s obsessions led him to post internet videos of himself killing kittens, then a man, and finally to his arrest at the cafe where he had spent two hours reading media coverage of himself.
Confronted by seven officers, the Canadian “tried at first giving fake names but in the end he just said, ‘You got me’,” said police spokesman Guido Busch.
Magnotta is expected to appear before a judge in Germany today.
It was reported that Canadian authorities will be interested in the swift return of their only suspect.
In a statement, Interpol praised international police forces involved in the search.
