Gordon hopes USA display will help him find a new club
Goalkeeper keen to impress for Scotland

CRAIG Gordon believes Scotland’s friendly against the United States this weekend could be crucial to his hopes of finding a new club.
The goalkeeper is on the lookout after being released by Sunderland, where a number of injury problems resulted in him losing his place in the team.
He has not featured for the national team since a 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands in November 2010.
And Gordon hopes some game time in Saturday’s clash in Jacksonville will send the right signal to clubs he is ready for action.
He said: “I’m looking forward to it.
“Not having played a great deal of football this season, it’s a chance to finish the season by showing people that I’m ready to play and hopefully I’ll get some time on the park out here.
“Everyone is aware of my contract situation with Sunderland, so it’s important for me to show anybody who is watching that I’m ready to play.”
