Cheers Bar: The Square, Huntly

I AM always early – for appointments, meetings, dinners ...
But turning up an hour-and-a-half early after taking note of the wrong time for theatre rehearsals was a bit too keen, even for me.
Luckily, a fellow cast member was free so we went on the hunt for a spot of lunch – and ended up in Cheers Bar.
We examined the menu – very reasonably priced and full of variety.
Of course, I plumped for my favourite – a BBQ bacon and cheese burger (£4.75 plus 75p for chips). It was one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
The succulent burger was topped with crispy bacon – perfectly cooked so there were no chewy, fatty bits. This was accompanied by melted mature cheddar cheese and lashings of barbecue sauce that really set my taste buds alight. I’ve never had BBQ sauce like it before – it was absolutely delicious.
My cast mate opted for a simple option – chips and cheese (£2.25). The chips were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside – like the best chip shop chips. The cheese they were smothered with was packed with flavour.
We sat and chatted for a while, feeling welcomed by the regulars, and by the time we left to head for rehearsals we were both in cheerful spirits. I might be early on purpose next week, so I can go back!
